Right at the inception, the Foundation decided to work at the grassroots level, in a bid to improve the quality of education in the country’s government schools. Over the years, the geographical extent of our work expanded to include some of India’s remotest locations. Apart from being directly present on the ground, we also work with partners across the country. Such collaborations help us align resources and support our partners in amplifying their reach in their work in various fields of human development and well-being.
We also work with partners and civil society organisations (CSOs) through multi-year grants. We currently support 1,150 not-for-profits and CSOs working across areas such as gender justice, constitutional values, disability and governance.
The Foundation set up the Azim Premji University as a step towards strengthening the country’s social sector. This is our way of ensuring a flow of knowledgeable, skilled and socially aware professionals to the field.
Our operating units work in an integrated manner to catalyse development in Education, Health and Livelihoods
Our vision for strengthening India’s social sector is ably supported by our University curriculum and campuses
Collaboration is key to our work in areas of equity and human well-being. Our partners function in some of the remotest geographies of India.
