An initiative to support girl students to pursue their college education.
Please keep checking this page for updates and information on renewal applications for 2024 and new applications for the next cohort.

The Azim Premji Scholarship is part of Azim Premji Foundation’s commitment to improving quality and equity of education in India. The scholarship seeks to support girl students from disadvantaged backgrounds in their pursuit of college education.
Our experience and insights from our extensive on-ground work in the domain tell us that access to education becomes increasingly difficult when a student, especially a girl, transitions from primary to secondary schooling. The inequity becomes more pronounced when it comes to higher education. Various factors compel girl students to drop out of the system – from proximity to institutions to financial constraints. In some cases, social mores become impediments in a girl’s journey and participation in higher education.

The initiative seeks to help address the matter of financial constraints that girls face in accessing college education. Shortlisted candidates are awarded a scholarship of INR 30,000 per year for the entire duration (two, three, four or five years) of the undergraduate diploma/ degree programme to cover tuition fees or any other expenses incurred towards completion of their education.
