We believe that meaningful learning happens in an environment that fosters open communication, free expression, shared responsibility, and a deep sense of respect for all. We are dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive atmosphere—free from fear, prejudice, and social barriers—for both students and staff. The pupil to teacher ratio in primary, upper primary and secondary classes is 30:1. In the ECE classes, the ratio is 15:1.

Our beliefs about children

We believe every child is capable of learning and is the bearer of unique curiosity, language and cultural strengths. Children thrive when they are respected, valued and actively engaged in the learning process. They acquire knowledge in many ways — through exploration, experience, conversation, movement and creative expression — and often learn effectively from their peers. Each child learns at their own pace, and physical development supports emotional and cognitive growth. We also recognise that children respond differently to situations, and the same child may react differently at different times. This calls for a flexible, responsive approach to teaching and learning.

Teaching-learning processes in our school

Classroom teaching: Focuses on actively engaging students in a variety of activities and providing appropriate challenges for them to question, explore, imagine, discuss, debate and to build conceptual clarity as well as procedural fluency.

Focus on creative expression: Strong emphasis on art, music, physical education, craft and club activities as essential components of a well-rounded education. These areas are not treated as extracurricular or optional, but as integral to the holistic development of every child. We believe that engagement with the arts and physical activity nurtures creativity, emotional expression, collaboration confidence, while also promoting physical health and mental well-being.

Peer and collaborative learning: Peer learning allows students to explain concepts to one another in ways that are often more relatable and accessible, reinforcing understanding for both the speaker and the listener. To foster collaborative learning, we create classroom cultures that value cooperation over competition, where students support each other’s learning journeys. Learning is not limited to the teacher-student relationship; teachers facilitate interactions by setting norms for respectful dialogue, guiding group dynamics and encouraging reflective practices.

Children taking responsibility in school functioning: Children should actively participate in the functioning of the school and share responsibility for their learning environment. This stems from our core belief in treating children as capable individuals whose voices, choices and actions matter. When children are trusted with responsibility, they develop a strong sense of ownership, accountability and leadership. For this we consciously foster school assemblies and student committees.
